Proudly Canadian Dudley Do-Right is the not-so-bright yet everso proud member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). He works directly under Inspector Fenwick, whose daughter, Nell, is the object of Dudley's affection. His best friends are his horse (named “Horse”) and his phonograph.
Our Original Lore: While starting their tour, Rocky and Bullwinkle dipped into Canada briefly where their tour bus got held hostage by Snidely Whiplash. Dudely Do-Right saved the day and, upon learning that his new friends were in a band, begged them to allow him to sing with them for a week. He joined them on their gig and then lost his passport, stranding him in the USA until he could get it sorted out. He took Snidely with him for the time being but kept him detained and behind bars. While not the most gifted singer, he was able to do impressions of musical instruments, and enjoyed singing along to his phonographic records.
By the time the band had been performing at Northwoods for awhile, Dudley was finally able to get his passport and papers in order. He eventually returned to Canada and set up a life with Nell, who had become a local celebrity after winning several pie making competitions. Her billboards, they say, can be found all over Canada, and it should be noted that Dudley's former bandmate still uses one for a rest stop to this very day. Fortunately for Dudley, Nell didn't seem to have a problem with Horse having a room in their home.
Television & Film: Dudley made his debut in Rocky and His Friends, which would later be renamed to The Bullwinkle Show. There would then be films and television series (one project starring Brendan Fraser) starring Dudley.
Bullwinkle's Restaurants: Dudley made his debut as an animatronic bot in 1982 in Santa Clara, California, voiced by Bill Scott. While he was ommitted from condensed shows, he did appear in the expanded Northwoods stage.
